The Pembroke: A Chic New American Gem in Washington, DC

Arrived in DC and found a restaurant close by for breakfast. The Pembroke located at the DuPont circle hotel. Ordered a mimosa and the American breakfast (Two Eggs, Sautéed Greens, Breakfast Potatoes, Bacon, Sourdough Bread). Everything was delicious. Everyone that assisted me was pleasant and professional.

Reviewing the Sunday Supper experience, specifically. The Pembroke staff uses this to flex their creativity by crafting a menu sourced directly from the Dupont Circle Farmers Market. Amazing! Every dish we had was fresh, flavorful, and complex. Particular highlights include Yellowtail Snapper Crudo, Green Plaintain Soup, Crispy Skin Pork Lechon, and Arroz Mamposteauo. This was a decadent and plentiful three-course meal that included two desserts--all for $60pp. Our group left thinking we could do this every month. Amazing!

I had such a lovely brunch at The Pembroke!! The room is gorgeous and sunny, and the table was so aesthetic, I couldn't help but take pictures of all the dishes!! I got the classic two eggs any style, and it was amazing. The scramble was beautiful, and it came with a great crispy potato / hash brown, which I loved. It's a perfect spot for a quiet brunch with friends or visitors!

Food was delicious, and the staff at the bar was friendly and welcoming. I would recommend it.

I visited The Pembroke with a friend over the summer, and it was a delightful experience. Located right near DuPont, the restaurant has a sophisticated, classic decor with plenty of open space and beautiful natural lighting. The drinks were wonderfully crafted and the food was also delicious. Our waiter provided excellent service and had fantastic suggestions, which added to the experience. The only downside is the price--it felt a bit steep for the quality. The crab cake alone was close to $30. Overall, I'd come again but be more mindful with what I order.

This is a much overdue review for the Pembroke. The brunch dishes that my friend and I tried left nothing to be desired. Brunch can be a meal or time of day when restaurants just don't seem to care? That is not the case at the Pembroke. Everything we tried was delicious. The savory dishes were filling and delightfully rich. The dessert that we shared showed finesse and tasted heavenly. I'll share pics, too. Service was prompt and polite. We had to wait a little despite having a reservation, but maybe that's typical for a city restaurant on a busy Sunday? I won't hold that against them too much. Also, because of its location inside of a hotel, you'll be directed to the hotel's main desk when you call to speak to restaurant staff, like letting them know if you're running behind.

If you're looking for an intimate dining experience with a gorgeous, plant-friendly ambiance, The Pembroke is the place for you! I visited yesterday for a friend's birthday, and overall, it was a great experience. I was the first to arrive from my party, and our server, Victoria, made me feel right at home. She was extremely personable and engaged me in some delightful conversation while I waited. Her recommendation of the Siesta da Passion--a refreshing, grapefruit-forward drink--was spot on. The drink had the perfect balance of sweetness and fruitiness and was surprisingly potent! For my main course, I ordered the Bucatini, which was simply wonderful. It had just the right amount of spice, a generous portion of lobster, and a very satisfying portion size. Others at my table ordered the Amish Half Chicken and Sea Bass, and they couldn't stop raving about their dishes--our table had no complaints when it came to the food! An even more popular contender was the bread, warm and fresh and paired well with our meals. The only downside was the ambiance--while the intimate setting was lovely, the dim lighting made it a bit hard to see. Additionally, as the evening went on (we didn't leave until after 11 pm), we started to feel a bit rushed. I understand that we were there late, but it was disappointing to have other servers come to our table, reaching across my drink to remove items while I was still engaged in conversation. It made us feel pressured to leave, which was not ideal when celebrating a friend's birthday. Overall, The Pembroke offers a beautiful setting, excellent service (thanks to Victoria!), and delicious food, but the end of our experience could have been handled with a bit more grace.

Perfect Birthday Brunch Spot! I celebrated my birthday brunch at The Pembroke in Washington, DC, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. The service was exceptional -- our server catered to every need and made my day feel extra special. The food portions were just right, and everything was priced well, which was a nice surprise. The ambiance is classic and charming, making it the perfect spot for cocktails and conversation. I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate! Super cute asthetics! If I wasn't with my boomer in-laws I'd probably sit outside and feel like I'm in Europe. But even inside is super cute and the staff did great with my 82 year old father in-law. Miso glazed sea bass was great. Rice was flavorless IMO. My husband and mother in-law got the crispy salmon and loved it. She was so curious about the bamboo rice being green lololol. Cocktails were great and even larger wine pours. Definitely looking to do brunch here one of these days with some girlfriends. Especially when the weather is nice in DC!
